Act. 2 - Comparing Conceptual Maps (Nacho)

In the last Sofa Sessions we have been learning and thinking about Inclusive Education. With our reflections we drew what we consider a clear conceptual map to know about this subject. As you can see in the picture below, we consider that Inclusive Education has five main aspects that defined it and are about the philosophy behind a school of these characteristics.

These aspects outlined Inclusive Education as a way of learning that offers equal opportunities for everyone, has a new way of teaching that encourages learning instead of giving up, is open to the world and connected with the society that surround the school and in is democratic in its organization.

In class we have compared our map with Educational League`s one and I consider that both groups have thought quite the same but under a different approach. Our conceptual map is based on main aims that defined Inclusive Education while Education League has focused on the leading roles in education such as school, students, teacher and parents.

As we see they talk about trust, cooperation, integration, opportunities to everyone and real world as we did but they emphasized some interesting points that worth to mention:

- The role of parents that can go to school to learn some techniques and use them at home to help their children.

- The fact that classes are simulations of real life and are adapted to different contexts under the idea of free curriculum.

- Enhance of self-confidence’s students thanks to the responsibility and autonomy they have in their daily life.

I think that Education League map is really good because explains in a view, even to people that don’t know a thing about this, what Inclusive Education is and the factors that define it. Really a good work Supereducationheroes!!
